Instructional Technologist II - Anticipated

Details: The Instructional Technologist II develops eLearning programs using the Lectora authoring tool for LTB projects. These projects consist of webinars, self-study programs, and eLearning courses. Converts storyboards to eLearning courses developed in Lectora, integrates multimedia components into eLearning courses, develops unique navigations systems, packages courses in SCORM for integration on Sum Total and TRAIN learning management systems, as well as provides training to less experienced staff regarding the use of Lectora.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEssential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Responsible for the integration of CNI Core Competencies into daily functions, including: commitment to integrity, knowledge/quality of work, supporting financial goals of the company, initiative/motivation, cooperation/relationships, problem analysis/discretion, accomplishing goals through organization, positive oral/written communication skills, leadership abilities, commitment to Affirmative Action, reliability/dependability, flexibility and ownership/accountability of actions taken.Applies principles of instructional systems design to conduct analysis, design, development and evaluation tasks required for training products and services.Conforms and adapts product design and delivery approach to fully utilize applicable Lectora authoring tool, learning management system (LMS) and SCORM (Shareable Content Object Reference Model) features.Develops learning products based on sound instructional design methodology and adult learning theory, web sites and all associated content and multimedia according to HHS and CDC Section 508 guidelines and laws and EDAB guidance. Develops 508-compliant PDF documents, video, widgets, podcasts, and other multimedia content in consultation with subject matter experts, Health Education Specialists, and Instructional Designers.Provides Lectora instruction for less experienced developers.Provides Webinars and eLearning courses defined by the CDC and modified as necessary on an ongoing basis.Provides Lectora support for LTB related to projects.Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions as the best of own ability.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design or Communications Design and 3 years of experience or five or more years of experience in lieu of degree. Must have experience using the Lectora authoring software. Must have experience instructing others in the use of Lectora software. Must be an experienced instructional designer. Must have strong analytical skills, proven problem solving-ability, and ability to develop and follow-through with creative solutions for design and development tasks. Must have the ability to elicit, capture, and document requirements directly from end-users and design systems according to those requirements.Preferred experience: Experience serving as a project manager or technical lead; Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; Experience working in the public health field.
