Qualified candidates will need to teach college-level courses to our technical, transfer degree and non-degree seeking students in our Center for Innovative Technology (CIT) Division. Responsibilities will include instructing students and providing relevant class/lab experiences needed to assist them in the successful completion of their program. Our Faculty are also responsible for providing student advising relative to academic programs, and collaborating with program chair(s), co-op coordinators, other teaching faculty, members of the CIT Division, and the community to support the program and activities of the Audio/Video Production cluster/area, Division, and College. Instruction may take place in a classroom or via distance or online learning web portals. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssess student performance in achieving course objectives and communicate progress in a course to students in a timely manner.Promote student success in their courses and program through academic advising and referral to College resources (tutoring, etc.). Teach assigned introductory and upper-level accounting courses following established course descriptions, course objectives, and syllabi.Provide academic advice to students, including information regarding the curriculum, scheduling, cooperative education, and career opportunities.Address student issues in a timely manner, including communicating issue to program chair.Teach assigned introductory and upper-level accounting courses following established course descriptions, course objectives, and syllabi.Remain current in Audio/Video Production field and relate information to teaching responsibilities.Participate in professional development activities.Participate in peer mentoring program and demonstrate continuous progress toward completing on a timely basis all required activities and documentation required for tenure. Make continuous efforts to improve the quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods.Actively participate in cluster/are, College and Divisional activities, meetings, and committees. Assist in the development of new courses/curricula and the maintenance of existing courses/curricula. Develop and use a syllabus for each course or laboratory within college, discipline, and departmental guidelines and submit one copy to the department chair.Plan, develop, and use a variety of teaching methods and materials that assist students in meeting course objectives and which are appropriate for students with differing educational and experiential backgrounds and learning styles.Evaluate students to measure their progress toward achievement of stated course objectives and inform them of their progress in the course in a timely manner.Keep accurate student records and submit related reports and forms within requested timelines.Review, evaluate, and recommend student textbooks and learning materials.Teach courses at a variety of times and locations in response to institutional needs.Use equipment and facilities responsibly and courteously. Where appropriate, assist the Chair with the routine maintenance of instructional laboratories. Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Audio/Video Production or related field from an accredited college or university.2 years of work experience in the teaching as Faculty or Adjunct at a community College or University.2 to 5 years of professional work experience in the Audio/Video Production field.Strong Background in Camera Operation, Lighting Design and gripping. (including single and multi camera production both in studio and on location)And/or Video Editing and Compositing using AVID, Final Cut 7, After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator.Demonstrate competence and interest in the use of technology in the classroom and willingness to explore new instructional methodologies. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree Audio/Video Production or related field from an accredited college or university.Solid understanding of audio principals, both field and studio, and a working knowledge of Protools Audio software.Experience using diverse methods of classroom technology, and innovative instructional/academic support systems and programs. Willing and able to teach day or evening classes .Demonstrated skill in teaching, using applied academic methods, including active and collaborative learning. Strong written and oral communication skills. Team player, strong organizational skills, and self-motivated.
