Details: Directs and oversees all direct, consultative, and supportive assessment and therapeutic services provided  to students/persons served, faculty, education staff members and parents/guardians.  Manages all activities related to the development and implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans for students/persons served. Collaborates closely with the Education and Residential Directors to identify and meet all staff education needs related to clinical and educational  programming to enhance the students’ potential for learning and assist students in the acquisition of functional performance skills needed to access, participate in, and benefit from, the educational environment. Advocates on behalf of persons served.Essential Responsibilities: Provides ongoing leadership, training, and guidance to psychology staff and student interns within the following areas of responsibility. Conducts regular staff meetings and attends other program management meetings to promote a constant flow of information, open discussions, knowledge sharing, and to keep staff well-informed; In conjunction with education management, manages the ongoing job performance of psychology staff, develops and communicates performance goals, completes performance evaluations within established timeframes, provides feedback, develops and takes action on performance improvement plans, and determines and implements disciplinary action as needed; Appropriately assigns caseload responsibilities for psychology staff and ensures collaboration with educational and residential staff Appropriately delegates work responsibilities; Supports the professional development and career growth of psychology staff by identifying and providing ongoing training and certification attainment in accordance with state licensing regulations and any accreditation standards, as applicable within discipline-specific area of responsibility. Participates in the selection and assignment of school psychology and behavior analysis student interns within program.  Provides daily guidance and training opportunities to increase the intern’s knowledge of discipline-specific methods and techniques. Collaborates with sending University advisors to ensure required experience and supervision hours and evaluations are completed  Oversees and/or conducts behavioral assessments to include functional assessment/experimental analysis, preference assessments, and treatment evaluations to ensure the development of least restrictive, function-based behavior plans for individual students/persons served, as needed or as assigned.        Oversees and/or conducts clinical observations and diagnostic and other standardized assessments and specialized screenings to determine the level of intellectual and adaptive functioning, communication abilities, achievement performance, level of support, and the need for therapeutic intervention. Assists in the planning and development of goals specific to assessment results that are educationally and environmentally appropriate, achievable, measurable, and that can be effectively integrated into each individual’s IPP.
