Details: JOB PURPOSE: Work collaboratively with parents of individuals with developmental disabilities (3-22 years of age). Model, teach and support families to implement positive behavior strategies so individuals can succeed in personal life skills. Conduct screening and assessment of indentified outcomes and provide interpretation of assessment data through written reports. Enhance child development and functional outcomes and improve family life through delivery of effective, outcome-based high quality intervention service. Utilize family-centered strategies, focusing on the overall needs of the family to support the family system in providing the best developmental environment for the child. Determine through an assessment process why an individual is exhibiting certain challenging behavior(s) and develop plan to teach and facilitate appropriate behaviors to replace the individual's inappropriate/challenging behaviors. The Educator works within a two-person team to provide the services to the individuals and their families and/or school teams; therefore the position involves supervising service implementation
